Last updated: May 31, 2026

This privacy policy applies to the ChoreQuest mobile application (App ID: dk.w4.chorequest) for iOS and Android, as well as the related web services at chorequest.dk operated by Steffen Mogensen (hereinafter referred to as the "Service Provider").

Data Controller

Steffen Mogensen acts as the Data Controller responsible for the processing of your personal data under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

  • Name: Steffen Mogensen
  • Address: Engelstoftsgade 20, 5000 Odense C, Denmark
  • Email: feber.sm@gmail.com

For data protection inquiries or to exercise your GDPR rights, please contact the Data Controller using the details above.

What Information is Collected and Why?

The Application collects information you provide when registering an account, setting up family profiles, or interacting with quests:

  • Account & Credentials: Email address, display name, and securely hashed passwords managed via Firebase Authentication.
  • Family & Household Details: Family name, child profiles, avatars, assigned chores/quests, savings targets, and earned points.
  • Verification Media: Photos taken by children as proof of completed chores (stored encrypted in Cloud Storage).
  • Subscription History: Purchase status and entitlement metadata managed via RevenueCat (we do not process or store payment cards directly).

Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)

  • Performance of Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): Necessary to provide the ChoreQuest service and features to you and your family.
  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): Where explicit consent has been given, such as optional notifications or photo uploads. You may withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legitimate Interests (Art. 6(1)(f)): Maintaining infrastructure security, preventing fraud, and application performance monitoring.
  • Legal Obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): Compliance with statutory and regulatory duties.

Third-Party Sub-processors

ChoreQuest works with vetted infrastructure providers under GDPR Article 28 Data Processing Agreements (DPAs):

Children's Privacy

ChoreQuest is built specifically for household cooperation. Child profiles can only be created and linked under verified parental authorization via a private 6-character family code. We never sell or monetize children's data or present behavioral advertising. Photos submitted as chore proof are strictly private to the linked household parents.

Data Retention and Account Deletion

We retain personal data as long as your account remains active. You maintain the right to delete your account and all associated family data at any time.

Self-service deletion is available immediately at chorequest.dk/en/delete-account or directly within the mobile app under Settings. Triggering deletion permanently wipes user profiles, photos, family records, and subscription identifiers from our servers.

Your Rights Under GDPR

  • Right of Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Right to Erasure: Request permanent deletion ("right to be forgotten").
  • Right to Restrict or Object: Limit or object to specific processing activities.
  • Right to Data Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet at datatilsynet.dk) or your local supervisory authority.
